Silver Bells Village
5:00-9:00 pm
The Silver Bells village is the perfect place to start your holiday shopping, get some refreshments and purchase your Silver Bells commemorative ornament. The village will feature thirty vendors and seven food trailers/trucks. The Village is located on the 100 E. Block of Allegan Street between South Washington Square and Grand Avenue.
28th Annual Electric Light Parade
Steps off at 6:00 pm
The signature Electric Light Parade has anchored Silver Bells since 1997. This year’s parade steps off at 6 p.m. from the corner of Lenawee Street and South Washington Square. The parade features more than 70 entries decked out with thousands of lights- including 11 high school marching bands, horse drawn dignitary carriages, Santa Claus atop his sleigh and more!
State of Michigan Christmas Tree Lighting
Approximately 7:25 pm
Following the parade, the festivities continue with the annual state Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the capitol building. This year’s state tree is a gorgeous 60-foot-tall spruce donated by Eagle, Mich., residents Rich and Dorcas Albertson. The spruce arrives downtown Nov. 2, ahead of the Silver Bells in the City celebration, when dignitaries will flip the switch that sets it aglow.
Community Sing
Approximately 7:30 pm
Drone Light Show
Approximately 7:35 p.m.
The sky will aglow as 200 drones perform a Firefly Drone Light Show while synchronizing to music after the Community Sing performance.
Fireworks
Approximately 7:50 p.m.
A stunning fireworks display over the capitol building marks the evening’s grand finale. (Weather Permitting)
Live Broadcast
6:00-8:00 p.m.
The Silver Bells in the City Electric Light Parade is going to be broadcast LIVE on FOX 47 and local Comcast Channel 12 from 6-8 p.m.
City of Lansing-TV (Lansing Public Media Center)
Immediately after the live broadcast, and on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. through New Year's Eve.

Silver Bells 5K
9:00 a.m.
Enjoy a chip-timed 5K race to celebrate Silver Bells in the City and the start of the holiday season. Participants can run/walk the 5K marked course in downtown Lansing. Registration includes a long-sleeve tee, finishers medal and awards for the top finishers. There will also be a costume content. The Silver Bells 5K is presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network with support from AF Group, Dean, Metronet and Planet Fitness. Any realized proceeds benefit the Chris & Louise Holman Foundation and Silver Bells in the City. To date, more than $58,000 has been donated to local organization supporting at-risk youth in our mid-Michigan communities.
